As a woman, I have never been one to surround myself with high-drama or piece of shit girls, but given enough time of a lifetime of dealing with female, you're BOUND to come across a few who make you wonder "what's the plan here???"

Girls are NOTORIOUS for thinking about the future, but only acting in the present.

Let me explain: Us girls are great at goal setting, resolutions, new year new me girl talk sessions, but when it comes down to real ACTION or the stick-to-it-iveness to make something REAL happen over the long haul, most just don't have what it takes.

Long term follow-through is a masculine trait.

The rub here is that these same women who are acting from minute to minute based entirely on how they FEEEEEL in that moment, are also trying to attract Men who are long-game kind of people.

So, what happens is that Marcy is dating Luke for just over a year. Luke thinks everything is going great, he thinks Marcy is a great girl and likes doing things with her, and he thinks maybe someday he will marry Marcy. Meanwhile, Marcy also thinks Luke is great and could definitely imagine herself married to him and having a family with him, but he hasn't said anything about getting married someday, he hasn't proposed, and you know what, he's talking about taking a new promotion at work and I bet that will keep him so busy that he won't even have time to THINK about marriage...so Marcy gets herself all worked up (and not in that sexy way we like) and dumps Luke.

IF, Marcy were a girl who had a clue about consistency and could actually put her FEEEEELINGS aside for a moment, she'd realize that Luke's promotion at work benefits HER, too, and that the more supportive and STABLE she can be, the better he will do in his career. The better he does in his career, the more life satisfaction he will have, an he will also associate HER with those good feelings. In another year (had Marcy NOT dumped Luke), Luke may have decided he was in a good place financially to begin working on that future with Marcy, and propose to her.

If only she could have seen the big picture and stuck it out, been a stable presence in his busy life, and work to help make Luke's life easier and more pleasant...two years into the relationship she could have been ENGAGED instead of trying to start over to find a new guy.

A girl's ultimate timeline goes something like this:

Dating -> Engagement -> Marriage -> House -> Babies

Each one of these steps takes an average of two years, and at any step along the way the clock can get reset.

Girls who have the patience and STABILITY to play the long game often WIN, and win BIG!
